Interesting Places to Visit in Taipei

I was born in Kaohsiung, but I lived in Taipei for the most of the time after I began to study in the university. I spent 4 years for the bachelor degree and 2 years for the master degree in Taipei. The capital of Taiwan is Taipei where I started my career and continued to work for more than ten years.

 Taipei 101

First of all, no one could introduce Taipei without a mention about Taipei 101, which is the 101-floor landmark, and the tallest building in Taipei. You could see it almost everywhere in Taipei. You could go the observatory to view almost the whole of Taipei City. By the way, there is a large mall in Taipei 101. There is wonderful fire work as shown in the above picture every New Year Midnight.

Jadeite Cabbage with Insects

Secondly, there are a lot of collection in the National Palace Museum, such as painting, calligraphy, rare books, ceramics, bronzes, jades, curios, etc. I have to introduce that the Jadeite Cabbage with Insects is one of the greatest collections. I almost can not believe that the colors of the body, leaves and even the insects are natural. The artisan carved the piece of jade and designed the suitable shape with its original color distribution.

 Ximending

At last, Ximending has been a attractive district of shopping and entertainment for more than 60 years. There are various therters, modern karaoke houses, electronic stores, fashional clothing and shoe shores, and the restaurents that provide the different foods from different countries or areas. By the way, it is popular with teenagers and young people, so there are a lot of beautiful girls and handsome boys, especially in the evening and night.
